100 Gardens for Wythenshawe
A BLOOMING CELEBRATION OF 100 YEARS OF WYTHENSHAWE
One hundred years ago, Wythenshawe was designed as one of England’s first garden cities, developed to re-house residents from crowded inner-city areas.
We now have a new, contemporary vision for Wythenshawe unfolding this year and following our successful bid for Levelling-Up funding to kickstart the regeneration of the Civic Centre, Mike wants to celebrate one hundred years since the concept of Wythenshawe as a garden city was formed.
Across Wythenshawe, local people, businesses, schools, faith groups and charities are working together to create and regenerate one hundred green spaces, where orchards, hedgerows, sensory gardens, wildflower meadows and woodlands are established for the benefit of all.
