I spoke for the Shadow Education team in three Westminster Hall debates this month, one on the important issue of holiday hunger, another highlighting Anti-bullying Week, and finally this week, a debate on Free Schools and Academies.
In the Commons chamber, I spoke alongside Angela Rayner in an important debate about education funding. Labour’s National Education Service doesn’t promise ‘little extras’.
It would reverse cuts to education and value educators as the highly-skilled professionals they are. I also gave the opening speech in the Commons chamber for a debate on improving education standards.
If the Government truly want to see standards in education rise, they must do the logical thing and truly end austerity once and for all.
