Mike comments on airline passengers waiting for refunds

In recent weeks Mike was appointed Shadow Minister for Aviation and Maritime on the Labour Frontbench.

During the Covid-19 pandemic airline passengers have been struggling to get refunds from airline companies for flights that they are unable to take.

Earlier this week Mike commented on the news that some airline passengers have told to wait up to a year for refunds from cancelled fights.

Mike said:

“The Government and Civil Aviation Authority must clarify guidance to airlines on issuing refunds.

“We recognise that airlines are facing huge volumes of enquiries and are working hard in unprecedented circumstances. But for thousands of customers, many who have seen their own incomes hit during the pandemic, it’s vital that fair refunds are issued and that passengers don’t lose out.”
